Writing a book is…so many things. It’s exciting. It’s fun when the words are flowing. It can be filled with sense of purpose. It can be the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

It’s also a bit like climbing Mount Everest in the middle of a wicked snowstorm with a pinkie’s worth of visibility, half the gear you need, and no comm signal…and the group that went up ahead of you was never heard from again.

But plot is only half the story. The outer half of the story.
